COMPARISONS: OPPOSITES & SIMILARITIES

To clarify and deepen my understanding of the Ring, I pondered the following comparisons with similar and/or opposing cards. Maybe my comparisons will inspire you to make your own!

Relationship
Ring: The commitment part of a relationship - any type of relationship; could even be a work relationship.
Heart: A loving relationship - possibly romantic.
Lily: By itself a purely physical, sexual, relationship - could be respectful or exploitive.

Commitment
Ring: Commitment. To say "yes" to somebody or something and stick with them no matter what. To be tied to someone or something.
Ship: To be unable to commit (probably because you feel that there's so much else to discover or try still); to be not tied down by anything.

Ties, bonds
Ring: The ties that bind. Bound by a promise. Bound together by something, especially by something which is shared, which all parties concerned have in common, which makes them a unit.
Anchor: To be tied to someone or something by practical necessities; bound in the sense of constrained, restrained, or stuck with.

(Dis)connect
Ring:To connect, to link, to enter into a relationship.
Scythe: To disconnect, to sever a tie, to break up a relationship.
